Xiaomi has plans to release a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
So far, Xiaomi has released only one Mi Mix Fold foldable smartphone , but it seems that the Chinese company continues to have interest in such devices. This is indicated by one of the new patents of the Chinese giant, which describes the design of a folding device in a different form factor.
Apparently, Xiaomi is considering releasing its own clamshell phone like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip or Motorola Razr. In the patent, the device is shown both in the folded and unfolded state. In the first case, it turns out to be a fairly compact device, but there is no external display for displaying notifications anywhere. On the bottom you can see the SIM tray, USB Type-C and speaker grille. On the right side are the power and volume buttons.
Interestingly, the camera block is exactly like that of Google’s Pixel 6. It is not clear whether there will be three cameras or one of the circles – this is a flash. There are no cutouts or holes on the screen of the smartphone, which means it is likely that Xiaomi will use its own under-screen camera technology, which debuted just in the Mi Mix Fold.
The company has already announced plans to launch a smartphone with Leica in July. Perhaps at the same time we should expect a new foldable gadget from a Chinese company.
