Public Transport is an essential service and Transdev are committed to providing a safe and reliable bus service to our passengers. Transdev Heavy Vehicle Mechanics are responsible for all facets of maintaining our fleet of buses to ensure we can deliver a clean, safe and comfortable journey to our community. In order to meet roadworthy compliance your daily focus will be conducting safety checks, trouble shooting and diagnosing repairs as well as preventative maintenance.
We are inviting qualified light vehicle mechanics to join Transdev and upgrade their qualification to Heavy Vehicle Mechanic through a training programme.
Opportunities are available at our Taren Point bus depot. Previous experience working on buses or coaches is desirable but not mandatory.

As a Plant Mechanic based at our Moorebank workshop, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our equipment is safe and ready for hire.
To say we have an extensive range of hire equipment is underselling the reality of it. We supply just about anything you can imagine our clients need to complete their projects, and we need your expertise to keep our fleet in top condition.
On any given day you could be working on anything from generators and scissor lifts to earthmoving and lighting plant, and much more!
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
Ensure appropriate stock levels of spare parts are available
Maintain up-to-date service records for all service and repair work
Minimise operational downtime of equipment
What you’ll bring to the role

Relevant Mechanical Trade qualification

Forklift Licence beneficial

You are Trade Qualified – Panel beater or mechanic and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a complex/liability assessment role within Australia
You have knowledge of the latest repair methodology or have proven your ability to quickly learn new technology, systems and processes.
