Sharp Aquos R2 Compact: compact size, top filling and two notches
Sharp introduced last year’s heir to the Aquos R Compact , one of the first smartphones with a cut-out in the screen. In the second version Sharp Aquos R2 Compact, the manufacturer decided to go even further, making two cuts in the novelty at once. In addition to the unique design, the device received top specifications and a display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Sharp Aquos R2 Compact is almost the same size as its predecessor, while the screen diagonal has grown from 4.9 to 5.2 inches. This was made possible by reducing the bottom frame and placing the fingerprint scanner in a small cutout. As before, the smartphone uses a proprietary IGZO matrix with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The Aquos R Compact used a mid-level Snapdragon 660 processor, and the Aquos R2 Compact was equipped with the flagship Snapdragon 845. With dimensions of 131 x 64 x 9.3 mm, this is the smallest smartphone on the market with this chipset. Its closest competitor is the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact.
Contrary to the trends to increase the number of cameras, the new Aquos R2 Compact equipped with a single module with a resolution of 22.6 M and the lens aperture with f / 1.9. The front facing camera is also one – with a sensor 8 megapixels and aperture f / 2.2. But Sharp said the use of various algorithms and artificial intelligence technology to improve the captured photos.
